Food Pantry

The JFS Food Pantry provides clients with supplemental food, toiletry, and seasonal items. We operate a “client choice model” in which clients select from available options.

You must be a JFS client to utilize the pantry. Ask your therapist or case manager about visiting the Food Pantry during your next visit.

Volunteer Opportunities at Our Food Pantry

We are looking for dedicated volunteers to help support our mission of providing food to those in need. Below are two volunteer positions currently available:

1. Food Drive Organizer

Are you passionate about community outreach and organizing events? We need volunteers to help us coordinate food drives by reaching out to local stores, churches, nonprofits, and community groups to secure donations. This role involves:

•Contacting potential food donors via phone, email, or in person.

•Coordinating donation drop-offs and pickups.

•Promoting food drives within the community.

•Keeping records of collected donations and donor contacts.

This is a flexible position that can be done remotely with occasional in-person visits to our pantry or partner locations.

2. Pantry Shelf Organizer

Do you enjoy hands-on work and keeping things in order? We need volunteers to help organize our food pantry on a weekly basis. Responsibilities include:

•Sorting and restocking shelves.

•Checking expiration dates to ensure no expired food is distributed.

•Keeping the pantry clean and well-organized.

•Assisting with inventory management.

This position requires in-person participation and is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented and enjoys creating a tidy, welcoming space for our clients.
